    • The Andocksysteme ASAM sampling system is a unique method for obtaining powder or liquid samples under very high containment conditions.

      ASAM 1 - "Jar" sample unit for larger sample capture.

      The system works similar to their split valve technology - eg. active and passive valves, however, in lieu of a butterfly valve, the ASAM system uses an active ball-half with a cup machined into the ball-half. When the active valve is closed, it forms a near-flush surface into the process equipment. The sample is captured into a small container, typically glass with a protective steel cage. The container is attached to a passive valve.

      Similar to the design of the ASAM 1 unit except there is no "cup" in the active ball-half to gather powder, instead the active ball-half has a small hole in which a powder thief can be inserted. The hole is made into the "side" of the ball, thus when the active ball-half is closed the hole is hidden away. The thief is held in a plastic tube-bag, which is joined.

    Andocksysteme offers a complete range of split butterfly valves and related systems for safe handling of potent compounds. The valves are offered in two seal type versions, depending on the containment level (or if solvents are used): White EPDM or white PTFE (teflon), both are FDA quality materials.

    Andocksysteme valves have been tested in three separate private studies in accordance with ISPE SMEPAC protocols (Abbott Labs, Hoffmann-La Roche, and Novartis) and have achieved the following results

    Valve with PTFE seal NOT using vacuum extraction: ~500 nanogram level of containment (ETWA 8 hours).

    Valve with EPDM seal using vacuum extraction: ~0.4 nanogram level of containment (ETWA 8 hours).

    Andocksysteme offers some key advantages:

    • +/- 14mm docking tolerances on the X/Y axis, 
    • Planar (Y axis) offset >30mm (with cylinder system), 
    • Product contacting parts remove from active station in 1 minute - no air or electrical connections to remove.
